It's actually highly structured and features several pages which teach you how to use the journal and the Travelling Snail method. The idea being to take things slowly and absorb as much as you can about the trip as possible by journaling whenever you can and noting down every detail from the people you meet, the places you visit and the things you spend your money on. This is where the journal goes above and beyond all the others.The idea is you create your own travel guide book as well as a memento of your trip which can be kept for years and even passed on to offspring, hence the binding and the attention of detail. George qualified as an engineer and spent the first 15 years of his career as a specialist satellite consulting engineer working on large international programmes with organisations such as the European Space Agency and NASA. He then spent 10 years creating a global consulting company specialising in the space industry. Throughout this time George travelled far and wide around the world as part of his career. During them George tried to chronicle his travels and his experiences of the places he visited but became frustrated with the traditional travel journal. A particular event in George's life while visiting a restaurant in France sparked off an idea that eventually led to the Travelling Snail concept.
Brilliant. Yes, the journal is quite large, however for me it was the perfect size. I loved that there were many sections to write and plan your journey. As a first time traveller, the travel itinerary section was very useful! I got it out several times on my journey just to double check. A convinient location for all your travel info. The section called "places of interest" was invaluable for me. I wanted to log all my memories of the places I visited in Rome and this allowed me to do it, giving me prompts whenever I was lost for words and simplifying it for me, but not in a belittling way. There is also a website to go with the book so you can type it all up and improve upon it. It's easy to use and you can add some of your photos too to go with the relevant section. I also liked the diary section so I could just jot down what I've been doing throughout the day and the blank pages at the back of the book so I could freely write or draw, I liked having the choice. I met quite a few people on my trip and I liked that there was a section for that too!I'd highly recommend this travel journal for anyone who wishes to log every moment of their travel and not forget a thing. I love writing so this was perfect for me and the prompts help with writers block :) A high quality and well thought out journal
